Wanted to include this in my last post but the sizing made it look all wonky.
This is the best “old” photo I’ve ever seen. What I love about all these, is that it’s a rare thing to identify with the stuffy, thin lipped demeanors of victorian photos. In all of these, they’re just fartin around! And it is a great thing to fart around, regardless of time period.
It is indeed rare to see emotions and smiles in old photos. Everyone seemed to feel the need to be serious and austere. So this is a nice change. Anyone know of a paper/thesis/essay on the changing dynamic of photography and smiling?
